Thomas B. Conway, Founder
Tom is founder of Connemara Group and is a fee-only financial planner. Based in Rockville, Maryland, he and his team serve clients throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan Region as well as nationally and internationally. Tom is uniquely positioned to provide comprehensive planning and investment advice to affluent, high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
He has been a practicing Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional for more than 20 years and has earned an extensive list of professional credentials. Tom was recently featured in Washingtonian magazine as one of Washington, DC’s Best Fee-Only Financial Planners.
Tom previously practiced law in Maryland and the District of Columbia for more than a decade; he remains an active member of the Maryland and District of Columbia bars. In 1996, Mr. Conway transitioned to providing comprehensive planning and investment advice to private clients before forming his own fee-only financial planning firm in 2009.
Tom is married to D. Elizabeth Walker, a founding partner of Walker & Murphy & Nelson, a civil litigation defense firm based in Rockville, Maryland. He and Elizabeth have two children, Kathryn and Matthew. Tom and Elizabeth enjoy traveling, hiking and reading.

Dr. Albert M. Teplin, Financial Planner
Dr. Albert M. Teplin, PhD, CFP® is Senior Financial Planner with Connemara Group. A 2012 graduate of Georgetown University’s Center for Continuing & Professional Education Certificate in Financial Planning Program, Al is a retired PhD economist with The Federal Reserve System. Dr. Teplin’s career as an economist and consultant spanned more than thirty years. From 1989 to 2001, he was the chief of the Flow of Funds Section at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC and served as senior economist before leaving in 2002. He then consulted for the European Central Bank, Bank of Japan, the Federal Reserve, and U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Dr. Teplin has also served as a corporate director for two publicly traded companies. He was a director of Viad Corporation from 2009-2015; Viad Corp is an S&P Small Cap 600 company that provides services to the trade show industry and exhibitors and offers travel and recreation services in the United States and Canada. Dr. Teplin was Audit Committee chair for six years and later chair of the Corporate Governance Committee. He was also a director of MoneyGram International, an S&P Midcap 400 company, from 2006 to 2011, where he served as chairman of the audit committee from 2008 to 2011. Dr. Teplin holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has a doctorate in economics from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and resides in Rockville, Maryland.
Robert M. Sinsheimer, Senior Wealth Advisor
Robert M. Sinsheimer, CFP® CPA MBA is a Senior Wealth Advisor with Connemara Group. Prior to joining Connemara Group, Robert was a senior tax partner in a national accounting firm having served in both its Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC offices.
Robert has extensive experience providing tax and wealth planning advice to owners of privately held companies, executives of publicly held companies as well as high net worth individuals. Robert holds specific skills in the area of compensation arrangements, stock options, and planning for sales of businesses.
Robert earned an MBA from Indiana University, a B.S. Industrial Management from Georgia Tech, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Nalin Garg, Senior Planning Analyst
Nalin Garg is currently a Senior Planning Analyst with Connemara. He is expected to earn the CFP® professional designation in early 2018, a prerequisite to becoming a Senior Financial Planner with the firm.
Prior to joining Connemara, Nalin served for more than 30 years at the World Bank in senior technical and management positions. His tenure at the World Bank—a global development institution—included positions in the African as well as Latin America & Caribbean Regions. He is an expert in budget management and analysis, business planning and strategy formulation, and operational risk management.
Upon earning the CFP® professional designation, Nalin intends to develop a practice concentration serving domestic and international employees of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other global organizations having a substantial presence in Washington, DC.
Nalin is a 2014 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies certificate program in Financial Planning. He has passed both the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ examination and the Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination and is now in the process of completing the experience requirement necessary to hold oneself out as a CFP® planning professional. He holds a Masters in Management Studies from BITS, Pilani, India. He is an Associate Member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
Scarlett (Yuanyuan) Che, Associate Planning Analyst
Scarlett (Yuanyuan) Che, CRPC® is an Associate Planning Analyst with Connemara. She directly supports all planning engagements.
Scarlett is a native of Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, China. In 2014, she obtained a Master’s degree in Finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. An experienced planning analyst, Scarlett is now enrolled in the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification Professional Education Program with the College for Financial Planning. She intends to sit for the CFP® examination in late 2017.
A Financial Planning Association (FPA®) Diversity Scholarship recipient, Scarlett is committed to educating others on the importance of diversity within the emerging financial planning profession. Earning the CFP® professional designation is a near-term goal. Developing the skills and experience needed to serve as a highly qualified global financial planning professional is Scarlett’s long-term passion.
In her spare time, Scarlett enjoys hiking, reading, writing and traveling. She is also a student of the culinary arts and explorer of new restaurants. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
