out of Údarás meeting
Motion to locate technology park in Casla attracts no local support. Seosamh
Ó Cuaig, an elected member of Údarás na Gaeltachta,
walked out of last Tuesday's Western Regional Board meeting of Údarás
when his proposal that a technology park mooted for the Spiddal area should
be relocated in the Gaeltacht "heartland" failed to attract
a fellow member to second the motion.

Sky Road Rezoned
At a meeting on Monday last of the full Galway County Council members
voted to rezone a parcel of land on Clifden's Sky Road for development
purposes. This decision now clears the way for the land's owner to seek
planning permission to erect a number of houses on the land, a move which
some of the town's residents feel will detract from Clifden's attraction
as a tourist resort.
