Aillebrack School wins regional award
Earlier this month, Aillebrack National School emerged as a regional
winner in a nationwide competition organised by The Irish Independent,
based on the theme "My Favourite Building". The school's project,
which examined Slyne Head Lighthouse, was deemed to be the best in Connacht/Ulster.

New Hotel for Maam Cross
Almost three years to the day after its plans were first unveiled in
Glór Chonamara, and after sixteen months of construction, Peacocke's
Hotel and Complex saw its first phase of development officially opened by
An Taoiseach, Bertie Aherne, earlier this month.
Huge Crowds at Funerals
of Crash Victims
Christ the King Church, Tullycross, was the scene of great mourning
on Saturday, 27th of May, when the funerals of James Gavin and
Brian McGlion took place within hours of each other. Hundreds of
grief-stricken friends and family members attended both funerals.
Second Galway-Dublin
air service launched
The Indreabhán based airline, Aer Arann, is to considerably
improve the travel options for those wishing to travel to Dublin and beyond
with the provision of two new, each way, flights from Galway Airport to
Dublin on weekdays.
