Charity Golf Am
Am Tournament at Connemara Golf Club for Goal
Aro Te�, a company based in Na Forbacha which produces the website Golf Club
Ireland, is working with GOAL to launch a Charity Golf Am Am Tournament at Connemara
Golf Club on July 10th. (26/6)
Clifden Reconstruction 1998
Councillor Joseph Conneely welcomes the announcement by Galway Co. Council of
Grant Allocations for 1998. Work is in progress on some of the roads and all
works will be complete by the end of 1998.

School on Inishbofin
Inishbofin, the beautiful island off the west coast of Ireland is the
venue for the Conamara Summer school run by the award winning Conamara

Digifone Mast Blocked
Work on a planned Esat Digifone relay site in the Connemara village of
Maam has been stopped by a permanent picket placed on the site by members
of the local community.

Inishbofin
Art Festival Latest
Poor old Frank Sinatra may no longer be with us but some well-known names
have been confirmed to perform at the Bofin Arts Festival next September.
Mick Crehan, Matt Keane, Sean Tyrrell and Altan will all be appearing
on stage at the Community Centre.
Airstrip
Update
At the AGM of the Island Council in Westport last week it emerged that
Bofin's research for an airstrip is about two years ahead of similar moves
by Turk and Clare Island.
Market
Hill's Mexican Project
Plans for an exciting, scaled-down Temple Bar-like project
for the centre of Clifden have been under discussion recently amongst the
landowners and residents of Market Hill, the central core area of

The proposal by Galway County Council to develop the market square at
Clifden has been the source of controversy since it was ratified by the
