The Letterfrack Film Society are pleased to announce that
they were winners at last night's Galway County Council and Bank of Ireland
Arts awards, held in the Town Hall, Galway. The presentation, a handsome
bronze sculpture of a Galway Hooker by the sculptor John Behan, was made
to the Letterfrack Film Society for artistic endeavour in the Connemara
region.
Established in 1993, the Letterfrack Film Society has grown
significantly over the last four years, thanks to the continued support
of sponsors and members. The group meet twice monthly to view a wide range
of internationally made films. The generosity of the Connemara National
Park and the Monastery Hostel, Letterfrack, have allowed the society to
enjoy the use of a professional audio-visual room and relaxing and comfortable
surroundings to discuss film matters on a social level.
